Conservation Handbook

    SAHP Wildlife Handbook

The purpose of this handbook is to act as a general information guide and welcome package to any new members of the division.  It is actively updated with the current information, and should be the go-to resource(besides the SOP) for any general questions about the ins and outs of Conservation.

Part I: What our division has to offer

The SAHP Wildlife unit specializes in all operations that take place or involve the wildlife, land, and sea where a normal trooper would not be able to operate. Our main priorities are to protect the state parks and bodies of water within the state of San Andreas, and any wildlife that may reside there.  Additionally, we are tasked with assisting the public with Search & Rescue operations, on & off road vehicle enforcement, boating safety, as well as the general duties of an SAHP trooper. In order to provide these services, our division consists of three smaller units within, that have their own special teams. At first this may seem confusing, so we have outlined it below.

                                   Fish & Game

Each unit is assigned a supervisor who oversees its operations below the commander. However, each unit is not its own, as they all work together and each resource is shared between all units. For example, Marine units boats may be used for fish & game patrols, or fish & games gators can be used for search and rescue operations. Keep in mind each vehicle/operation requires different certifications.

                                           Fish & Game

Fish & game is the primary unit of the division. All troopers joining the division first join this unit, then may train towards the other two units. When patrolling as a game warden, you are to have your standard issue truck, as well as the standard issued Polaris 4X4 quad which is ramped into the bed. Please check SOP’s for uniforms and loadouts. Additionally, this unit possesses an F-550 Brush truck converted to an LEO platform, multiple John Deere gators, and trailers to haul each of them. Boats are also available for patrols and events upon certification.  Game wardens are to patrol the state parks and other protected areas, but also may assist normal troopers with situations as needed.

                                              Marine Unit

As the name entails, this unit handles all aquatic operations. They possess multiple boats of different sizes, and are equipped to handle any aquatic emergency thrown at them. These boats are also used by other units. Marine units patrol lakes and oceans as needed, and respond to any aquatic Law Enforcement situation. Additionally, the unit is home to a specialized Dive team that handles any search & rescue, body/evidence recovery, and any other situations that may arise.

                                      Search & Rescue

This unit is made up of an elite team of operators equipped to handle any rescue situation, anywhere. Air, land, or sea, this team can handle it, in any weather condition. They train hard and often, and you must also if you wish to become a member of this team.  Besides the vehicles listed above, this unit has access to a vast arsenal of equipment. Currently, multiple F-550 Wildland trucks are in service, with different specialities for each team, such as ropes or S&R command operations. We also possess multiple rotary aircrafts, and cross train our members with the Air unit pilots.
