Public Relations Office Assistant Director:
The mission of the San Andreas Highway Patrol Public Relations Office is to strengthen the relationship with the citizens of San Andreas and other Law Enforcement Agencies while also recruiting new members to the San Andreas Highway Patrol. A Public Outreach Officer's main goal is to create bonds and relationships with citizens in an attempt to bring crime down in high crime areas of the state.

Director - The Director’s job within the Public Relations Office is to watch over the division at all times and keep all the documents up to date. The Director will hire and remove members as needed and assist with the planning of events in the city.
Assistant Director - The Assistant Director’s job is to assist the Director with any paperwork or hiring and removing members as needed. The Assistant Director will be closely involved in any events that are being planned within the state and should, if available, be present.
Supervisory Public Relations Officer - The Supervisory Public Relations Officer’s role is to oversee all doings of Public Relations Officers and handle their own when command is not available. They hold the same role as Public Relations Officers while out and about however they are expected to watch over Public Relations Officers and make sure everyone is abiding by the policies and procedures that are put into place. Supervisory Public Relations Officers will be the main members who plan events in the state and should serve as an example to all other Troopers.
Public Relations Officer - The Public Relations Officers are extremely important to the division. They are the front lines of the division and should be out on patrol visiting local businesses, attending events as scheduled, and targeting high crime areas.

Uniform Policy - All Public Relations Officers will wear their department issued uniform while on regular patrol. Uniform for events as approved by the director is as follows:

Vehicle Policy - All Public Relations Officers will drive their department issued vehicle. In some cases, specialized vehicles of other divisions will need to be used for display at scheduled events, however, this should only be done with the approval of the Director or the Assistant Director. Segways can be used in specific events as deemed appropriate by the Director or the Assistant Director.
Professionalism - All members of the division are expected to be professional on duty. This does not mean acting like a robot as it is expected for members of the division to be able to show some personality while on their patrol. You are permitted to “have fun” but not at the expense of someone else's fun.
Filming - During any sort of filming or ride along the passenger is not to engage with the civilians in any way shape or form. They are not to touch or interact with any person on scene. They may not be involved in any sort of foot pursuit. They may not film or endanger themselves in a life threatening situation. They must follow any and all laws. The camera man may not have any sort of weapon. If the passenger begins acting in a way we deem unfit to work with our department you must terminate their involvement immediately and end the ride along. This contract allows the public to experience the daily work and experiences of a trooper. We are happy to work and provide this service and increase our relationship with the public, as well as build a happy and friendly relationship with the people around and who see us.
Activity - All members of the division are required to submit at least one activation on the activation log every three weeks or you may face removal for inactivity.
Patrol - While on patrol Public Relations Officers should be attending local businesses, events held by citizens, and just stopping to talk with local citizens. Public Relations Officers are also encouraged to open stations by being available at the front desk and advertising that the station is open.
Ride Alongs - Public Relations Officers are encouraged to do ride alongs so that civilians can see what the day-to-day job of a State Trooper is. As a Public Relations Officer, you are permitted to do ride alongs with civilians at any time. All civilian ride alongs should be done in accordance with the San Andreas Highway Patrol Policies and Procedures, minus the rank requirement.
Events - Events should be planned by Supervisory Public Relations Officers and executed at the approval of the Assistant Director or Director. Events can be anything from go-kart races to simple dance parties or recruitment events. Events should never include alcoholic beer or drugs. Non-alcoholic beer is permitted to be served. Any Trooper or other Law Enforcement Agencies are welcome to attend, however, Public Relations Officers should be vigilant and ensure that the event runs smoothly so as not to damage the reputation of the San Andreas Highway Patrol.
Recruitment - While on patrol, Public Relations Officers should speak to civilians about what the department has to offer and encourage them to apply. Attempting to “poach” members of other Law Enforcement Departments is not allowed as it gives a bad look to the San Andreas Highway Patrol.
Press Releases - Any member of the division can draft a press release for anything they deem necessary. Press releases can be for large situations in state, advertising events, or attempting recruitment. These should be done using the provided template and sent to the Director for release.
