III.  Procedures

Activating as MBU

To Activate as a Motorbike Unit you must head to your nearest Troop Station (In AOP) and retrieve your bike from the garage and your uniform from the Locker Room. Please ensure you have your loadout saved and ready to go for activation and that you are currently using it. You will then call yourself 10-08 over your regions RTO eg. Blaine County radio 13 and announce “(Callsign) Show me going 10-08 10-41 Active MBU” you are not required to use your plate as a callsign just stick to your patrol callsign but add MBU | to the front of your name in RTO. A buddy system is recommended for when patrolling to ensure Trooper Safety in the event of a Scene. You may remove your helmet when off of your bike and chatting to civs etc but never take it off while riding it

Pursuit Policy

MB Units have the same pursuit speeds as Troopers but please ensure you take caution as you are a lot more vulnerable on a motorbike than in a car if involved in a 10-50. However, it is recommended that while pursuing a vehicle, you allow patrol cars to pass and take primary. Bikes are extremely manurable and can be used to get ahead of the pursuit to utilize stop-sticks if speeds are reasonable. It should be noted that Units should never pass the suspect directly, it is too dangerous for not only the Unit but other officers as well. While pursuing off road, the bikes can go as fast as possible that won't cause the bikes to get airborne. If you are in a 10-12 (Buddy system) With somebody else and they wreck it is your main priority to turn around and check up on them immediately. Do not get hero cop syndrome. Go and help your friend as coming off of a bike is a serious matter.

Traffic Stops

Traffic Stops shall be conducted as a normal Trooper but calling for an additional is highly recommended and always park to the side of the vehicle or at an angle to avoid being struck if they reverse into you and having your bike as a barrier.
