Uniform Overview

All instructors are to ensure that the cadets are wearing the correct uniform for the training. There are TWO uniforms that each cadet needs to have set up before the training which is the ACADEMY uniform and the TROOPER uniform. Both of these locker numbers are presented in the Cadet Handbook/Pre-Training Guide.

  1. Ensure that EACH cadet has BOTH uniforms set up FLAWLESSLY. If there are any mess-ups or errors with the uniform, tell them to fix it to what it's supposed to be.
  2. Grade them out of 10 in the #grading-logs on what they received for the Uniform Inspection. (If uniform is perfect, 10/10. If the uniform has one or two things wrong, give them 6-8/10, Instructor's discretion).

Uniforms are to be as followed:

Academy Uniform:                                                                                        Trooper Uniform:

Vehicle Overview

All instructors are to ensure that the cadets are driving the correct vehicle. They are to ensure that their vehicle matches the vehicle they have selected on the Motorpool Database. Make sure that it's a Light Bar or Slicktop corresponding with what they have on the motorpool. Cadets are instructed how to set this up in the Cadet Handbook/Pre-Training Guide.

  1. Ensure that EACH cadet has their motorpool vehicle ready to go WITH the license plate. The license plate should be (H*Callsign*P then 3 random Numbers) (Ex: H502P804)
  1. They are REQUIRED to have the following installed in their vehicle.
  1. Rambar / Pushbar (Wraparound is OPTIONAL)
  2. Backseat Cage
  3. IF Lightbar, NO visor lights. Dash lights are OPTIONAL.
  4. IF Slicktop, YES visor lights. Dash lights NOT allowed.
  1. Grade them out of 10 in the #grading-logs on what they received for the Vehicle Inspection. (If the uniform of the vehicle is perfect, give them a 10/10. If there are some minor flaws, they can be missing the cage or plate was messed up, etc. then knock off a few points for their inspection.

Motorpool Policies if needed, here they are. This has all the required extras for each vehicle. If you are unsure if their vehicle is correct, refer to this slideshow.

Loadout Inspection

All instructors are to ensure that each cadet is up to date with the correct loadout and firearms that are used in their inventory. Please notify the cadets that firearms / melee weapons are NOT used within the QB-Inventory, and used through the Tab Menu.

If a cadets keybinds are NOT working in this stage and they have clashing keybinds with the TAB menu. Tell them to catch the next training and to set up their keybinds corresponding with the Cadet Handbook/Pre-Training Guide.

  1. The below weapons / utilities each cadet is required to have are below:
  1. Combat Pistol w/ Flashlight
  2. Stun Gun
  3. Carbine Rifle w/ Flashlight, Scope, and Grip
  4. Pump Shotgun w/ Flashlight
  5. Fire Extinguisher

  1. The above are what each cadet should have. Make the cadet take out each of these and show you it ONE AT A TIME FOR EACH CADET.
  2. After reviewing their loadout, if they have every weapon and attachment, give them a 10/10. If they are missing an attachment or weapon, knock off a few points to your discretion. This will be under the Loadout Inspection in the grading log.

Section 2: Sonoran CAD Introduction

All cadets should have their CAD setup during this point in the training. Please ensure that every cadet has an account associated with the SonoranCAD. If they do NOT have an account, tell them to quickly make one. If they all have accounts, proceed below.

  1. Once having each cadet log in to their CAD, give them the below information. (Keep in mind, some cadets may already have the community id and permission key for whatever reason).
  2. Community ID:
  1. PGNRP
  1. Permission Key:
  1. PGN-Law-Enforcement-Access
  1. After giving them the above information to properly get into the POLICE portion of the CAD System, please move on to the identifier phase.
  2. IDENTIFIER: Please have them set up their identifiers in the top left with all the proper information. The information will be as below.

Unit Number: Callsign

Name: First and Last Name

Rank: Trooper

Status: Available

Location: LEAVE BLANK

AOP: STATEWIDE

Agency: STATE OF SAN ANDREAS

Departments: SAHP

After filing the above information, have them click SAVE. This will save their identifier and use this every time they log into the CAD System on-duty.

After having the identifier setup, please move forward with explaining the CAD System to them. Instructors are to go over the Records Tab with the Citations / Arrest Reports. Please go over the following with them.

  1. Troopers are to properly fill out the citation or it may be dismissed upon review from the Department of Justice.
  1. Troopers MUST ensure they put time and effort into the narrative by typing a decent amount of words into the Narrative portion. They are to Explain what was given, the location and time, and what they did within 3-5 sentences.
  1. Under the ‘Status’ portion they are to file it under ‘ACTIVE’
  2. Under the ‘Date’ portion they are to file the date of the citation being given.
  3. Under the ‘Observing Units Signature’ they are to sign their own name at the bottom. (Ex: If Chris James were to issue the citation to someone, they’d put 502 | Chris James in that box.

Section 3: Code-Responses

Instructors will start at the Main San Andreas HP Station, at postal 723. Explain to the cadets that you are going to be acting as dispatch and attach them to a call with a response of code-1, code-2, or code-3.

Please start with the following

  • Code 1 to Postal 404, for a cat stuck in a tree.
  • Code 2 to Postal 174, for a Assault in Progress
  • Code 3 to Postal 99, for an Officer Down and Shots Fired.

Please evaluate their driving and make sure they understand what code 1,2, and 3 are. If they don’t understand/get it at the end then please go over it and explain to them what to do for them.

Section 4: Traffic Stops

Instructors are to have their cadets get into their vehicles and follow the instructor to the PALOMINO FWY, at postal 726 on the shoulder next to the Checkpoint.

Radar Setup

Have the cadet type /radartoggle in the CHAT System if it's not already on your screen. Have them click ‘J’ on their keyboard and have them drag the radar to wherever they want on their screen.

Have them go to the SETTINGS in the Radar Menu and turn on ‘AUTO LOCK’

Have them change the ‘SPEED INCREMENT’ to 10

Inform them that the keybind ‘O’ is the keybind to unlock the radar from the LOCKED/Yellow Outline of it.

Have them pull off on the freeway and pick a position to run radar. Make sure they have their radar setup and if they have questions with it then answer them. After they are both done with having the radars setup, please move onto the next phase.

Radio Setup

Please have them click “I” on their keyboard, or type /radio and explain what to do next.

Have them join Channel 6.4 and once they have both joined, have them do a radio check with their Callsign and the check.

(EX: 502, Radio Check).

Traffic Stops

After you hear both of them, please then pull off to the freeway and speed past the cadet. They are to pull you over ONE AT A TIME. The secondary cadet will just be in their spot until the first stop is completed.

Correct Positioning for a Traffic Stop:

THE INSTRUCTOR IS TO USE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON THE TRAFFIC STOP.

  1. License Plate is to be set to ‘HPTRAIN
  2. Name is to be ‘ROD FARVA’ when given to the Trooper.

Make sure they properly communicate with dispatch / other units over the radio system. Their callout should be 5-10 seconds total and not have any “ums” or stuttering throughout the radio. Make sure it is clear and precise.

If they are having trouble calling it out, make them call it out until they understand / get it correctly.

Section 5: Felony/High Risk Traffic Stop

Instruct the cadets to go through a felony traffic stop. Have the cadets go to postal 402 on Palomino Fwy. Have them perform a code-5 stop and call it out over the radio for other units. Have them get into the Code-5 Position of the Triangle Formation. For this exercise, there must be a minimum of 2 cadets. If this is just 1 cadet, have them do the traffic stop by themself perhaps, but it is a lot better with 2 officers minimum.

Make sure the cadets have positioned their vehicles like so. They also can use that third car on the right side, creating a full triangle formation on the suspects vehicle. This is mainly for side of the road felony stops.

Have them conduct the stop and give callouts to the best of their ability on the person and vehicle. Make sure they go into detail on the callouts giving the most precise callouts possible.

After they get you into custody, make sure they clear the vehicle, then end it off there. Lastly, as the Instructor, go over errors / things done incorrectly and how to fix them. Make sure they do it again to make sure the mistakes were fixed and they properly understand it now.

Section 6: Vehicular Pursuit/Foot Pursuit

Instructors now will begin pursuits for the cadets. Have the cadets NOCLIP back to Postal 99, LSIA.

Make sure the cadets are ready to go and the suspect is ready in a civilian vehicle. Have the cadets stay on channel 6.4 for the radio channel, which is where they’ll be doing the callouts for the pursuit.

Begin the pursuit on the runways and just overall around the area of the airport. Stay inside the airport for a few minutes, then exit the airport and use normal city roads. Try to not go on popular streets where there may be normal civilians (Such as Strawberry Ave, Carson Ave, Innocence Blvd, etc).

Make sure that the cadets are keeping up with radio callouts on the radio every few seconds and initiate the pursuit.

Let the pursuit go on for about 10 minutes or so total, then have them conduct a P.I.T Maneuver after announcing it over the radio. Let them know that they do NOT have to request a PIT, but do have to announce it and make sure it follows traffic / road policies. After they go for the P.I.T, stop your vehicle and let them box you.

After they box you, get out of the vehicle and perform a foot pursuit. Have them chase you for a minute or so, then open fire on them and begin to have a gun battle between the cadets. Try to miss shots and have them take you down. After taking you down, make sure they perform medical assistance on you and then end it off around a minute into the medical aid.

Section 7: Clearing Buildings / Breaching

After ending the pursuit, have the cadets no-clip to Postal 386, the factory. Have them spawn their cars outside and turn on their lights.

Have them open their trunks and throw on a vest through PED CUSTOMIZATION, NOT MP PED. This vest will be #66 under Body Armor and Accessory.

The instructors will go inside the factory and have the cadets begin to breach the building.

Make sure they use tactics and patience with the breaching. They don’t have access to flashbangs or anything like that, so make sure they don’t use them.

Have them go through the building and breach it, taking out all threats and detaining all victims / suspects that aren’t threats.

After they breach the building, have them delete their vehicles and no-clip to station 723.

Section 8: Academy Exam

As the instructor, you are to explain to the cadet this portion of the training. You are REQUIRED to read the below to the cadet, then give them their test.

“We will now be moving onto the Exam Portion. During this exam, it is an open-book exam so you are able to use departmental resources for your assistance. It is 4 total sections of work and around 20-25 questions. It will take you roughly 20-25 minutes max. You have 1 hour in order to complete this exam from when we start. If you go over that we will ask you to file N/A for each question and or click random answers.

I will now hand out the exam to each one of you via discord messages. Keep in mind that this exam is open book, meaning you are allowed to use the SOP, or Policy Sheet, or any document for that matter. Good luck, if you have any questions then please send me a dm. Please deafen and undeafen once you’ve completed the exam”.

Examination Link: https://forms.gle/cQCGnQFXKAHfVitD8

Please send the above link to each cadet after reading that message above to them.

Grading the Exam

After each Cadet is finished with their exams, you are to now grade them. Message them and let them know to give you around 5-10 minutes to grade the exams and will get back to them.

You will now open the sheet below, and begin grading the test. It will AUTOMATICALLY display the score in the left column of the sheet. This score has NOT factored in the 2 Written Scenario Questions. You are to go to the scenario questions and read through the question and answer and determine the results from there. If they answered the question perfectly, give them 2 points on that question. If they answered the question sort of, but missed a little information, then give them 1 point.

Exam Responses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X6HfeG4U6gCejg4EkAJdUGZra_udOeS7GECj-q6P3xY/edit?usp=sharing

After grading both of the written scenario questions, please factor those points to the score on the side and UPDATE it on the sheet to the NEW score.

Let them know they’ve passed or failed. If they failed, let them know that they are able to do the whole academy again for a final time whenever one is scheduled. If its their 2nd time doing a training, and they fail then they must be removed from the department.

If they fail, don’t go over section 9 with them.

If they pass, then let them know and move onto the next section.

Section 9: Graduation

At this point in the training, after they have passed their exams they have finally completed the Academy Program within the Highway Patrol.

As an instructor you are to teach them the roundabouts of the department and pretty much anything you want to say to your cadets for the final time, and go over the ride-along phase.

Explain that they are to complete 4 ride alongs, 2 done by an FTA (MTRP and Certified Troops), and 2 FTO Ride-Alongs done by a Corporal or above.
